If the world is really just a small town in a gaping universe, then we have to be careful what we say, do, think. When I was really young I used to think that every hair was a thought. And when that hair fell out that meant you forgot. And if your hair went gray it just meant that you thought in black and white. Uh. I was an abstract thinker as a kid.
I'm always a couple steps behind where I think I should be and by the time I get to those places, moments, things that I thought I wanted, turns out I've already moved past it and I have my eye on the next prize. I think that's called personal growth. Always be closing. Nah. Not really.
I had about four people text me earlier today to ask me where I was. I'm real tricky like that, it's impossible, albeit dangerous, for me to stay in one spot too long. I always like to be in motion. So whether I'm at the airport, on the back of a horse, or speeding dow a rural road in who knows where at 4AM, know that I'm probably happier doing that, than melting my soul away in front of a television or a bottle of wine.
Something I should outgrow.
In time.
If someone could only teach me to focus.

we are not responsible of how we feel, we are responsible for how we respond to those feelings...
ReplyDeletewe are taught to hold on (to friends, identity, past...), we have to learn to let go...
in release, the space between letters grows...
